← Which AI scribe should you use?

Methodology & disclosure

How this is funded

We don't take affiliate commissions, sponsorships, or referral fees from any scribe vendor. Every "Visit" link on this site goes straight to that vendor's own public page — nothing changes hands if you sign up. This guide is free because it's a lead-in to FlowGap's own paid product, the Flow Factors practice assessment, not because we're paid to recommend one scribe over another.

How the recommendation works

Your six answers are scored against every scribe in our list on the same criteria: fit for your role (solo therapist, group practice, or prescriber), EHR compatibility, note-format support, budget, and — if you flag it — whether the tool trains AI models on your session data. Nothing is filtered out; you always see your best three options, ranked. The scoring runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is sent to us or saved anywhere.

Independent review sources

Each review page links to that tool's listing on independent, third-party software review platforms — G2, Capterra, and TrustRadius. We deliberately exclude the vendor's own site and any competing scribe's blog: in this space, "reviews" are frequently published by a rival vendor (Mentalyc reviewing Upheal, Twofold reviewing Freed, and so on), and that content is marketing, not an independent assessment, however useful it may be for the factual details. Where we couldn't verify a genuine independent listing — either because the tool is too new to have one, or because its name collides with unrelated products on these platforms — we say so on that tool's page rather than cite something questionable.

Review cadence

AI scribe pricing and features change quickly. Every review page shows the date its information was last verified. We aim to re-check pricing and claims quarterly; treat anything older than that as worth double-checking on the vendor's own site before you commit.
